Why Maple Bear is growing so fast in Central and Eastern Europe.

  • Local families now represent 60-70% of CEE international school enrollment - organic, recurring demand independent of corporate relocation budgets
  • Bilingual program enrollment has grown 18% since 2015 - Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria are among the fastest-growing markets globally
  • Demand for dual diplomas - combining a local qualification with the internationally recognized Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) - growing among families seeking global academic pathways for their children.

What parents and trends demand today is exactly what Maple Bear has been offering for 20 years - a bilingual, hybrid program that raises children as local citizens with a global mindset.

What You Get That You Cannot Build Yourself in Under a Decade

Here's what Maple Bear delivers from the day you sign.

Canada's #1 Education System - Delivered Locally

Canada consistently ranks among the world's top education systems (OECD 2025). Maple Bear's curriculum is developed by Canadian and local educators and continuously refined by a faculty of 200 Canadian educators. You implement a methodology that took decades to build - you don't create it.

Canadian and Local, Fully Mapped: One Curriculum, Fully Compliant

This is the point most people miss. Maple Bear integrates Canadian methodology with each country's national curriculum and compliance requirements. Your school opens as a fully compliant local private school - not a niche international school dependent on expat enrollment. This is why local families choose it. This is why the revenue base is structurally different from traditional international schools.

Operations That Scale Without Breaking

Maple Bear operates schools across 39 countries through a standardized playbook - site selection, staffing, launch timelines, and ongoing school management follow the same process whether it's the first school in a new country or the fiftieth in an existing one. A new school typically reaches operational stability within its first academic year. We are not citing this to suggest operations are simple, we are citing it because franchisees and investors ask the same question before committing capital: can this actually be replicated, or does every new location start from zero. It does not. The playbook exists, it is been run dozens of times, and it works.

200 Canadian Faculty Training Your Team - In Your Classrooms

Your teachers are trained, coached, and supported by Maple Bear's global faculty - not through an online portal, but in your school. Annual on-site quality assurance visits mean your academic standards are maintained without you needing an education background. A 24/7 Maple Bear Academy is also available for your academic team.

Quality Is Not Left to Chance

Every Maple Bear school operates under the same pedagogical framework, teacher training standards, and curriculum oversight - regardless of country, franchisee, or local market conditions. Franchisees do not design their own curriculum. They implement ours. New teachers complete standardized training before ever entering a classroom, and schools are audited against the same benchmarks whether they're in Sofia, Istanbul, or São Paulo.

A Business That Holds Under Pressure

Education is one of the last categories families cut. Maple Bear Bulgaria opened during COVID-19 lockdowns and reached full capacity in 13 months. A Maple Bear school in Kyiv opened in 2020, and has continued operating and growing through the war. We are not citing these to be dramatic - we are citing them because institutional investors ask about downside scenarios, and these are the answers.

What the Numbers Look Like When the Model Works

These are not projections. They are outcomes from markets that were in the same position your city is in today.

Bulgaria Flag Bulgaria
Opened during COVID. Full capacity in 13 months. From one school the network is now 5 schools across Bulgaria, from Kindergarden to High School.

The first Maple Bear school in Sofia opened in 2019 - just as the pandemic shut everything down. Despite the timing, it reached full enrollment within 13 months. A second Sofia school opened in 2022, and a third school opened in Plovdiv in 2024. Two more kindergartens are operating now in Sofia as well.

Poland Flag Poland
A EUR 100M Private Fund Is Building 60 franchise Maple Bear Schools in Poland and the Czech Republic

Maple Bear Polska franchise is managed by a private equity fund partnering with local education professionals. The model is now backed by a EUR 100M private fund commitment to develop 60 Maple Bear schools across Poland and the Czech Republic.

Turkey Flag Turkey
25 new schools contracted in a single partnership agreement.

In 2024, Maple Bear CEE signed a single agreement for 25 schools across Turkey - demonstrating the depth of institutional confidence in the model.

Singapore Flag Singapore
55 schools. 10 years. Three consecutive "Best in Preschool Bilingual Literacy" awards.

Singapore validates the premium positioning: in a highly competitive, sophisticated market, Maple Bear has held its position for a decade and continued growing.

In Their Own Words

The Maple Bear franchise model is scalable and provides a complete operational framework across academics, operations, quality control, and training. Combined with strong support from the Maple Bear CEE team, it has enabled us to confidently grow to three schools and three kindergartens in Poland within three years.

I am not coming from education. My background is psychology and I am leading several successful businesses. I know how to evaluate a system before I put my own capital behind it. What convinced me with Maple Bear was the clarity of the model: a proven curriculum, real operational support, and a team that treats every franchisee like a real partner, not just a licence fee.

When we first met the Maple Bear CEE team, we felt we had found positive, open-minded people we could truly trust — professionals who are perfect communicators and excellent project managers, able to navigate any process to a successful outcome. Being their partner makes me feel safe and supported, and I’m proud of what we’ve built together in Bulgaria.

Opening a K-12 school in Kyiv in 2021 meant building for the long term, whatever came next. Even through the extraordinary challenges of the war in Ukraine, Maple Bear Global and Maple Bear CEE’s support never stopped. Beyond providing a strong academic model and curriculum that continued to be valued by families, their financial and operational support helped make it possible for our school to keep functioning. Their commitment has also extended to the safety and wellbeing of our students, supporting us in maintaining a secure school environment and access to education throughout the war. Together, we have continued to offer our students a genuinely international, bilingual education.

I am not an educator by background, but I wanted to bring something better to families in Tirana. Maple Bear gave me a real curriculum, a real support system, and a team that was with me at every step of opening our kindergarten. Seeing our children thriving today tells me it was the right choice for our city as we are currently top international group in our country. If I would have to go back in time I will always choose Maple Bear all over again.

Predictable. Recurring. Growing Every Year by Design.

A Maple Bear school generates revenue that compounds structurally as students advance through grades, new cohorts join, and your enrollment base grows year over year.

Premium Tuition positioning

Monthly or annual tuition fees from enrolled families. At CEE premium pricing, a school at capacity generates substantial recurring income. Premium education demand is resilient to economic cycles.

Recurring Revenue

Once a child enrolls at Maple Bear, they typically stay for the full 12-year journey. High enrollment combined with low attrition means predictable, compounding revenue per student over time - not a one-time transaction, but a long-term relationship.

Multiple Income Streams

Enrollment and registration fees, extended day programs, holiday camps, and co-curricular activities create additional revenue beyond core tuition - with high margin and low incremental cost.

Corporate Childcare Partnerships

Maple Bear has already built this track record: we operate and cooperate with corporations and embassies across multiple markets today. This is not a projected opportunity - it is a channel we have already proven we can execute.

What Serious Investors Ask Before the First Call

Do I need background in education?
No. Prior experience in education is not required. Maple Bear has successfully expanded around the world through entrepreneurs, investors, and franchisees who share a passion for education, many of whom entered the sector with no previous educational experience.

The model is designed so that you focus on managing and growing the business, while Maple Bear provides the academic expertise-through its proven curriculum, comprehensive training programs, ongoing academic support, and experienced faculty.
What does the investment actually include?
The initial investment covers the MBCEE one-time franchise onboarding fee (€45K), construction, furnishing, trainings and working capital to breakeven (including advance rent and franchise royalties). The exact figure depends on your location, building size, and local regulatory context - all of which are modelled in the business plan Maple Bear provides before you commit.
How long from signing to open doors?
Typically 6 to 12 months from contract signature to opening day, depending on the state of your building and local permitting timelines. Maple Bear's implementation team is involved throughout - from architectural planning to first-day operations.
Are territories still available in CEE?
Select territories remain available across Central and Eastern Europe. Availability is discussed in your briefing, as Maple Bear evaluates territory fit, market density, and investor profile before confirming. Express your interest early - available zones close as agreements are signed.

Share Your Market. We'll Map Out the Opportunity.

The briefing is 30 minutes. Our CEE team will tell you which territories are still open in your target market, walk you through a financial model built for your building size and city, and give you a picture of what the first 12 months typically look like for an operator in your position.

What you'll have after the call:
  • A territory availability map for your target market
  • A market-specific financial model (not a generic template)
  • Answers to any due diligence questions you came in with
  • A clear next step
*No obligation. No follow-up sequence if you decide it's not for you.*
